About Arabis auriculata Lam.

Arabis auriculata Lam. is a herbaceous flowering plant belonging to the Brassicaceae family. Its flowering period runs from March to July. In addition to the standard type form, botanist René Maire described the forma Arabis auriculata f. umbrosa. The species Draba nuda was originally classified within the genus Arabis, and has been noted to resemble A. auriculata. This species grows primarily on calcareous soil. It can be found in south and central Europe, western and central-western Asia, and parts of northern Africa, growing on foothills at elevations between 500 and 2400 meters. While it was historically present in Portugal, it is now extirpated from the country. Belgium classifies Arabis auriculata as an invasive species.
