About Aplasta ononaria (Füssly, 1783)

Aplasta is a monotypic moth genus belonging to the family Geometridae, erected by Jacob Hübner in 1823. This genus contains only one species: Aplasta ononaria, commonly known as the rest harrow. This species was first formally described by Johann Kaspar Füssli in 1783. Aplasta ononaria is distributed across an area stretching from southern Europe to Anatolia, and from England to the Baltic states. The total wingspan of this moth measures 26–31 mm, and the forewings have a length of 13–14 mm. Adult moths fly from June through September, with timing varying depending on the local location. The larvae of this species feed on plants in the genus Ononis.
