About Apiastrum angustifolium Nutt.

Apiastrum is a monotypic genus of flowering plants in the Apiaceae family, holding only one species: Apiastrum angustifolium Nutt. This species is commonly known as mock parsley. It is native to Arizona, California, and northwestern Mexico, where it grows in many different habitat types. It is an annual herb that grows a branching stem up to half a meter tall from a taproot. Numerous leaves grow along the stem; each leaf is up to around 5 centimeters long and split into many narrow lobes. Several inflorescences grow from the stem, often emerging from leaf axils, though this is not always the case. Each inflorescence is a compound umbel made up of tiny flowers, and each of these flowers has five pointed white petals.
