Anthriscus caucalis, commonly known as burr chervil or bur-chervil, is a plant species that belongs to the Apiaceae family. It shares a similar appearance to common cooking chervil, which is another species in the same Anthriscus genus. This plant produces thin, hollow stems, and grows clusters of white flowers arranged in umbels. Its light green leaves have a triangular shape, and are divided into numerous smaller leaflets. The plant produces tiny, hard fruits that measure approximately 3 millimeters long each, and these fruits are covered in hooked spines. Anthriscus caucalis is native to, and commonly found across, parts of Europe and Asia. It has also been introduced to other regions, including North America.
