This plant is an annual grass that forms small tufts, reaching a maximum height of approximately 30 centimetres, or 12 inches. Its leaves are short, pointed, and have a somewhat hairy texture. Its inflorescence can grow up to 3 centimetres (1.2 inches) long and 1 centimetre (0.4 inches) wide. It is flat, hairy, and holds spikelets that are only a few millimeters long.
