About Antennaria pulcherrima (Hook.) Greene

Antennaria pulcherrima (Hook.) Greene is a herbaceous plant that grows up to 65 centimeters tall. This species has male and female flowers produced on separate individual plants. It typically grows on alluvial soils deposited by streams, and is generally found in alpine or subarctic environments. Two subspecies are recognized: Antennaria pulcherrima subsp. eucosma (Fernald & Wiegand) R.J.Bayer, which occurs on limestone barrens in Newfoundland and on Anticosti Island, a part of Quebec; and Antennaria pulcherrima subsp. pulcherrima, which is found across most of the species' full range.
