About Anomis sabulifera Guenée, 1852
Description: Anomis sabulifera has a wingspan of approximately 32 to 38 millimeters. Males have ciliated antennae. On the forewings, the antemedial line bends outward between vein 1 and the inner margin, while the postmedial line curves inward beyond the wing cell. Diffused black coloration occurs on the forewing antemedial line, as well as between the postmedial and sub-marginal lines. A small orbicular spot is usually present, and two tiny specks are joined together to form a reniform spot. Ecology: This species produces multiple generations each year. Its larvae feed primarily on plant species belonging to the families Malvaceae and Tiliaceae. Confirmed recorded host food plants for the larvae include Althaea species, Abelmoschus esculentus, Hibiscus tiliaceus, Commersonia bartramia, Corchorus capsularis, Corchorus olitorius, Gossypium species, Grewia occidentalis, and Triumfetta rhomboidea.
