Nomenclature and Classification
Anolis fuscoauratus, commonly known as the slender anole, slender Amazon anole, or brown-eared anole, is a species of lizard in the family Dactyloidae.
Native Range
The species is native to Panama and northern South America.
Taxonomic History
It was first described as a new species in 1837.
Range Expansion
This is a widespread species, and in 2009 its confirmed geographic range was found to extend farther south, reaching Rio de Janeiro State in Brazil.
Habitat and Altitude
The preferred natural habitat of A. fuscoauratus is forest, occurring at altitudes ranging from sea level up to 1,800 m (5,900 ft).
Reproduction
A. fuscoauratus is oviparous.
