Anolis capito, commonly known as the bighead anole, is a species of lizard in the family Dactyloidae.

Geographic Distribution

This species is found in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama.

Activity Pattern

Although bighead anoles are active throughout the entire day, these enigmatic lizards spend most of their time in shade.

Habitat

They live low on trees in shady rainforest environments.
