About Anisosticta novemdecimpunctata (Linnaeus, 1758)
Adults of this species measure between 3 and 4 mm in length, with elongated bodies that are comparatively weakly curved. Their elytra range in color from yellow and orange to reddish and pink, and bear 19 black spots. The scutum, which ranges from beige to yellow, also has six black patches, which may be connected to one another by ridges. This species shows less morphological variability than other related species; its black patches are rarely connected to each other or entirely absent. The legs are yellow, while the feet and claws are somewhat slightly darker. The elytra bear spots, and have a fine grainy texture between the spots. The claws are untoothed. This species is common in western Palearctic Europe. Its range extends north to southern Norway, central Sweden, and Finland, and east into the middle and southern zones of European Russia. It is also found in England, Ireland, the Caucasus, Siberia, Kazakhstan, and Central Asia.
