Anicla infecta is a moth species in the Noctuidae family, first described by Ochsenheimer in 1816. Its caterpillar stage is commonly called the green cutworm, and the mature adult is known as the green cutworm moth. This species ranges from southeastern Canada, specifically Nova Scotia and Quebec, through the eastern United States, all the way south to Uruguay. The adult moth has a wingspan between 30 and 35 millimeters. The flight period for adult moths runs from June to September, varying by location. The caterpillar larvae feed on beets, grasses, and tobacco. Adult Anicla infecta act as pollinators for fetterbush lyonia.
