About Anicla illapsa Walker, 1857

Anicla illapsa, commonly known as the snowy dart, is a moth species belonging to the family Noctuidae. Its distribution range extends from New Brunswick to Florida, and westward to Texas, Nebraska, and Ontario. This species has a wingspan between 29 and 35 mm. Adult Anicla illapsa are active on the wing from May to October each year, and the species produces two generations annually. Larvae have been successfully reared in captivity on Phleum pratense, and they most likely feed on a variety of other wild grass species in their natural habitat.
