Angelica tomentosa S.Watson is a species of angelica commonly called woolly angelica. It is native to the coastal mountain ranges of California and southern Oregon, and grows in wooded habitats in this region. This is a perennial herb with a taproot that produces an erect, hollow stem, which typically reaches heights between 1 and 2 meters. The overall leaf structure may be nearly one meter long, but it is composed of many individual leaf-like leaflets. Each leaflet can grow up to 12 centimeters long, is shaped lance-like to oval, and sometimes has toothed edges. Its inflorescence is a compound umbel made up of up to 60 long rays, each of which holds clusters of whitish or yellowish flowers.
