It was referred to as Androsace perianthiis maximis in Hort. ups. 36, Androsace calycibus fructuum maximis in Hort. cliff. 50 and Roy. lugdb. 414. Wachend. ultr. 28 described it as Androsace foliis lanceolato - ovatis dentatis, calycibus corolla longioribus. It was also called Androsace altera in Cam. epit. 639 and Clus. hist. 2. p. 134, and Alsine affinis Androsace dicta major in Bauh. pin. 251.
