About Andersonglossum boreale (Fernald) J.I.Cohen

Northern wild comfrey, scientifically named Andersonglossum boreale (Fernald) J.I.Cohen, is a small perennial herbaceous plant. It reaches a maximum height of 2 feet (61 cm). Its oval-shaped leaves are broader near the plant's base, growing 4 to 8 inches (10 to 20 cm) long and 1 to 3 inches (25 to 76 mm) wide, with short petioles. Leaves growing on the upper portion of the stem clasp directly to the stem. The plant produces a branching inflorescence at its apex, which holds several small five-petaled blue flowers.
