It occurs in North America, with confirmed records ranging from Nova Scotia to British Columbia. In the western part of its range, it extends south to California and Arizona. Adults of this species have a wingspan of approximately 26 millimeters. In California, adult Anania mysippusalis are active on the wing between May and August.
