About Anacamptis sancta (L.) R.M.Bateman, Pridgeon & M.W.Chase

The flowers of Anacamptis sancta look similar to those of Anacamptis coriophora, but they are larger and more variable in color, ranging from pink to red. The flower lips of this species are unspotted, and most of its leaves are already withered by the time the plant blooms. In terms of distribution and habitat, Anacamptis sancta is very local or rare. It occurs in Turkey, Cyprus, Lebanon, Israel, and the Aegean Islands, and it prefers dry, stony ground.
