Amsinckiopsis kingii is an annual herb. It usually grows mostly upright or erect, reaching heights from just a few centimeters up to a maximum of around 40 centimeters. The entire plant has a hairy texture, with coarse, rough hairs. Its leaves are arranged alternately along the stem, and none grow longer than 6 centimeters. The inflorescence is made up of a series of tiny white flowers, each measuring 4 to 7 millimeters across. The fruit it produces is a small, arched, ribbed nutlet.
