Amphipyra effusa Boisduval is a species of moth belonging to the family Noctuidae. It is distributed across the Mediterranean region and Asia. This moth has a wingspan ranging from 41 to 48 millimeters, and is active as an adult from May through September. In Hérault, southern France, it is frequently found in the caves of Occitania, where it remains mating throughout the summer season. Its larvae feed on a variety of different plant genera, including Ferula, Populus, Erica, Cytisus and Cistus.
