About Amerila rubripes Walker

Amerila rubripes, commonly known as Walker's frother, is a species of moth belonging to the subfamily Arctiinae. This moth is found in Queensland, Australia. Its wingspan measures approximately 50 millimeters. Adult individuals have translucent white wings, black spots on the thorax, and red and orange colored areas on the legs, hindwings and body. When this moth becomes disturbed, it secretes a frothy substance from glands located next to its eyes. The larvae of Amerila rubripes feed on the plants Cryptostegia grandiflora and Gymnanthera oblonga.
