About Amelanchier stolonifera Wiegand

Amelanchier × spicata, commonly known as low juneberry, thicket shadbush, dwarf serviceberry, or low serviceberry (it was also historically called 'pigeon berry'), is a hybrid between Amelanchier alnifolia and Amelanchier humilis. This plant produces edible fruit that are actually pomes, which can be eaten raw or cooked. It grows clusters of small white flowers that bloom during spring. Amelanchier × spicata is native to North America. It is a very hardy species, and is classified as invasive in Scandinavia.
