About Amelanchier bartramiana (Tausch) M.Roem.
Amelanchier bartramiana is a species of serviceberry. Its common names are mountain serviceberry, mountain shadbush, Bartram's serviceberry, mountain juneberry, Bartram juneberry, and oblongfruit serviceberry. The leaves of A. bartramiana are brown or green, egg-shaped, tapered at both ends, and lined with fine teeth that extend almost to the leaf base. Each leaf has 6 to 12 teeth, and has between 10 and 16 pairs of lateral veins. Its petioles measure 2โ10 millimetres (0.079โ0.394 in) long, and its leaf blades are ovate and elliptic. The flowers each have five white petals, and grow either singly or in clusters of up to four blossoms. The fruit of the species is a pear-shaped pome that is red when unripe and ripens to dark purple. The fruits are edible, and can be eaten raw or cooked.
