Amegilla aeruginosa (Smith, 1854) has a body length of 10 millimeters, and a forewing length of 8 to 9 millimeters. This species can be distinguished from other Australian Amegilla species by the green or bronze fur that covers most of its upper body surface. This species is widely distributed across the coastal and subcoastal tropics and subtropics of northern and north-eastern Australia.
