About Ambrosia bidentata Michx.

Ambrosia bidentata, commonly known as lanceleaf ragweed, is a North American plant species belonging to the family Asteraceae. It is native to the central and eastern United States, occurring mainly in the Mississippi Valley and the eastern Great Plains. This species is an annual herb that grows up to 100 cm (40 inches) tall. Unlike many related species that have complexly divided leaves, the leaves of Ambrosia bidentata have only a few lobes, and sometimes do not have any lobes at all. Its flower heads are small and not noticeable, because this plant is pollinated by wind. As the seeds ripen, these heads develop into spiny burs.
