About Amanita flavella (E.-J.Gilbert) E.-J.Gilbert & Cleland
Amanita flavella is a mycorrhizal fungal species belonging to the Amanitaceae family. Its cap is convex, most often lemon-yellow, but can also be yellowish-orange, and reaches up to 9 centimetres (3+1⁄2 inches) in diameter. This species has crowded, pale-yellow gills. The stipe is yellowish-white, centrally positioned, 9 cm tall, slightly bulbous at the base, and enclosed within a volva. The ring is yellowish-white, flared, ample, and membranous. Its spores are ellipsoid, white, amyloid, and measure 8.5–10 μm long by 6–6.5 μm wide. Amanita flavella resembles the species A. flavoconia and A. flavipes in appearance. It occurs in New South Wales and Queensland, Australia.
