About Allium scilloides Douglas ex S.Watson
Allium scilloides Douglas ex S.Watson grows bulbs along an underground rhizome. Each bulb is round to egg-shaped, measuring up to 2 centimeters across. This species usually produces two thick, flattened leaves that curl near their tips, and often lie nearly prostrate on the ground. Its flowers are bell-shaped, around 7 millimeters across. The tepals are white, pink, or purplish, with green midribs. The anthers are purple, and the pollen ranges from white to gray. Unopened flower buds are often dark red to dark pink before opening.
