About Allium rubens Spreng.

Allium rubens, commonly known as the reddish onion, is a species of onion native to Siberia, European Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and Xinjiang. It grows in sunlit steppe and scrubland locations. This species produces clusters of small, narrow bulbs that reach up to 10 mm in diameter. Its scape can grow up to 25 cm tall. The leaves are tubular, approximately the same length as the scape, and measure 10–20 mm in diameter. Its umbels bear only a small number of reddish-purple flowers.
