About Allium pallasii Murray

Allium pallasii Murray, commonly known as a wild onion species, is native to Central Asia, Mongolia, Altay Krai, and Xinjiang. This plant grows in deserts and dry steppes, at elevations ranging from 600 to 2300 meters. It produces one round bulb, reaching up to 20 millimeters across. Its scape grows to a maximum height of 30 centimeters. The leaves are tubular, shorter than the scape, and up to 2.5 millimeters wide. Allium pallasii bears pale red or pale purple flowers.
