Allium altaicum Pall. produces narrowly egg-shaped bulbs that can reach up to 4 cm (1+1⁄2 inches) in diameter. Its scape is round in cross-section and grows up to 100 cm (39 inches) tall. The leaves are round and reach up to 50 cm (20 inches) in length. This species has pale yellow flowers that grow up to 20 mm (13⁄16 inch) across. It has an egg-shaped ovary, and its stamens are longer than the tepals.
