Alisma triviale Pursh is a perennial herb that grows 1 to 3 feet tall. Each plant produces a clump of long-petioled leaves that are lanceolate to linear in shape. A flowering stem grows up from between these leaves. Its flowers have 3 green sepals and 3 petals that are white or tinged with pink. This species is native to Canada, including the Northwest Territories, the United States, including Alaska, and northern Mexico. It grows in shallow water or mud.
