Alfredectes semiaeneus, commonly known as Alfred's shieldback, is a species of katydid. It has a widespread distribution across the Western Cape and Eastern Cape provinces of South Africa. This species occurs in lowland and coastal fynbos habitats, at elevations up to 1400 meters. It faces threats from habitat destruction, though populations can still be found in protected areas including Baviaanskloof Mega Reserve and Tsitsikamma National Park.
