About Albuca abyssinica Jacq.

Albuca abyssinica Jacq. (synonym: Albuca melleri) is a species of flowering plant in the family Asparagaceae, native to tropical regions of Africa. In Tanzania, it is commonly known by the names koyosa and kitunguu pori. This plant reaches heights of 60 to 100 cm, and produces flowers in terminal racemes that are 20 to 30 cm long. Its bulb has been used to treat inflammation and to dress wounds.
