About Albizia adianthifolia (Schumach.) W.Wight

Albizia adianthifolia (Schumach.) W.Wight is a large deciduous tree that grows up to 25 metres (82 ft) tall, with a spreading, flat crown. It produces a profusion of bright green leaves and heavily scented, fluffy flowers in winter or spring. Its leaves are twice compound, and the leaflets measure 2–5 by 8 mm in size. This tree grows best in sandy soils located in warm, high rainfall areas. In South Africa, it occurs naturally in coastal lowland forests. Albizia adianthifolia is cultivated as an ornamental tree. Its attractive growth habit makes it a popular garden tree, and it is often kept as a native plant in suburban gardens when other native vegetation is cleared. The trees typically produce abundant seeds that grow easily when planted in sandy soil.
