About Agrotis vancouverensis Grote, 1873
Agrotis vancouverensis, commonly known as the Vancouver dart, is a moth species belonging to the family Noctuidae. This species was first formally described by Augustus Radcliffe Grote in 1873. It is distributed in the Pacific Northwest region of North America, and is particularly common in areas west of the Cascade Mountains. The forewings of this moth reach an approximate length of 33 mm. Adult moths are active during late spring and early summer. This species produces one new generation each year. The larval stage of Agrotis vancouverensis feeds on a wide variety of herbaceous plants.
