Agrotera basinotata is a species of moth in the family Crambidae. It was first described by George Hampson in 1891. This moth is native to Queensland, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Japan. It was later introduced to Hawaii to control Melastoma malabathricum. The larvae of Agrotera basinotata feed on Melastoma malabathricum, and also on Syzygium buxifolium.
