Agrocybe retigera is a mushroom species belonging to the genus Agrocybe. The first recorded sighting of this species occurred in the early 1950s, and it was first formally described in 1950 by Spegazzini Singer. Since its initial documentation, this mushroom has been found in widespread common locations, most often growing in grassy areas including gardens, meadows, and parks. It occurs most commonly across tropical and subtropical regions globally. The cap of Agrocybe retigera typically measures between 17 and 44 millimetres across, and is generally pale in overall colour. The body of the mushroom ranges in colour from cream to pale brown.
