About Agrius godarti MacLeay

Agrius godarti is a moth in the family Sphingidae. It is similar to Agrius convolvuli, but differs in several features: it has slight sexual dimorphism, where the female's forewing is paler than the male's. Its lateral abdominal spots are buff rather than pink, the pale bands on the hindwing upperside are buff rather than grey, and its median band is single and narrow. This moth has a wingspan of about 80 mm. This species occurs inland in the northern half of Australia, including Queensland and New South Wales, and is also found across Southeast Asia, Japan, and other parts of Australia. It lives in a range of habitats, and favors tropical and subtropical forests, plus cultivated areas with available host plants.
