This moth species can be found in France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Greece; it is also present on the islands of Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Malta, and Crete, as well as in Asia Minor, Lebanon, Algeria, Libya, and the Canary Islands. The scientific name of the species is Agriphila trabeatellus Herrich-Schäffer, 1849.
