About Agnorhiza elata (H.M.Hall) W.A.Weber
Agnorhiza elata grows in woodlands and pine forests. It is a perennial herb that develops from a thick taproot and caudex unit. Its hairy stem grows erect, reaching a maximum height of around one meter. The leaves bear triangular blades that grow up to 20 centimeters long. The leaves are covered in woolly hairs and resin glands, and their edges are either smooth or slightly serrated. Its inflorescence consists of one or more flower heads. Each flower head has lance-shaped phyllaries and up to 20 yellow ray florets, which can grow up to 6 centimeters long. The fruit produced is an achene over one centimeter long, tipped with a pappus.
