About Aglaonema commutatum Schott

Aglaonema commutatum, commonly called the poison dart plant, is a flowering plant species. It belongs to the Chinese evergreen genus Aglaonema, which is part of the Araceae family. This species is native to the Philippines and northeastern Sulawesi. It has been introduced to a number of other tropical areas, including Cuba, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, Comoros, the Chagos Archipelago, India, Bangladesh, and the Cook Islands. Its hybrid cultivar 'Silver Queen', produced by crossing with A. nitidum, has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit for use as a houseplant.
