About Agave datylio F.A.C.Weber

Agave datylio F.A.C.Weber grows as a leaf rosette reaching approximately 3.3 feet (1.0 m) in diameter. It produces narrow, lanceolate leaves that grow up to 2–2.6 ft (0.61–0.79 m) in length. The upper surface of each leaf is grooved; leaves bear a 1.6-inch (41 mm) spine at the tip, and 0.1–0.2-inch (2.5–5.1 mm) teeth spaced along their edges. Young leaves of this species are green, and turn yellow to golden brown as they age. Its flowers measure 1.6–2.2 inches (41–56 mm, or up to 2.2 inches/55 mm) long and are greenish yellow in color. In cultivation, Agave datylio is easy to grow in gardens. It prefers gentle slopes and open sunlight. It can be propagated vegetatively, and can also be grown from seed.
