About Agathia hemithearia Guenée
This moth species has a wingspan of approximately 36 millimeters. All visible markings on the moth are rufous in color. The thorax and abdomen feature heavier marking than other body regions. The forewings have a medial band of consistent width that angles at the median nervure. Both the forewings and hindwings have a rufous outer area that is irrorated (sprinkled) with fuscous. This outer area is crossed by a wavy grey postmedial line, which encloses a series of connected sub-marginal green patches. These patches lie below the apex of each wing, and are also found near the inner margin of the hindwings. A green area extends a prominent tooth-shaped projection into the rufous area at vein 5 and below vein 2 on each wing. The ocellus is reduced to a pale line that crosses the tail. The ventral side of the moth has purplish fuscous markings.
