Agalinis neoscotica (Greene) Fernald is an annual herb that grows up to 18 inches (0.46 meters) tall. It uses a "mixed" mating strategy and can delay germination from self-pollination. Its leaves are simple and arranged oppositely along the stem.
Agalinis neoscotica is distributed in the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, including on Grand Manan Island and Sable Island. It is also found in Washington County, Maine, United States. It grows in a variety of habitats: bogs, brackish or salt marshes and flats, coastal beaches, fresh tidal marshes or flats, and wetland margins.
