Aethes tesserana, originally described by Denis & Schiffermüller in 1775, is a moth species that belongs to the family Tortricidae. This species is distributed across most of Europe, the Near East, and northern Iran. The wingspan of adult Aethes tesserana ranges from 12 to 18 millimetres, which equals 0.47 to 0.71 inches. Adults of this species are active in flight from May through August. The larvae of Aethes tesserana feed on the roots of plants from the genera Picris and Hieracium.
