About Aethes atomosana (Busck, 1907)

Aethes atomosana, commonly known as the two-spotted aethes, is a moth species that belongs to the Tortricidae family. This species is native to North America, and has been specifically recorded in the regions of Nova Scotia, Ontario, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Wisconsin. The forewings of Aethes atomosana measure between 6.6 and 9.8 millimetres in length. The forewings are a light ochreous base colour, and are suffused with darker ochreous scales. The hindwings are a light ochreous fuscous colour. Adult moths are active in flight from June through September, and most likely produce only one generation each year.
