Aegialia arenaria, commonly called the dune scarab beetle, is a species of beetle that belongs to the family Scarabaeidae. This species occurs in both the Palearctic and Nearctic realms. It is a coastal species that inhabits sand dunes. In the Palearctic, it is found in western and northern Europe, specifically in the Netherlands, Belgium, France (Nord-Pas-de-Calais), Germany, Denmark, Portugal, Spain, Britain, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. In the Nearctic, it ranges from Nova Scotia (including Sable Island), Canada, to Massachusetts and New Hampshire in the United States.
