About Adina cordifolia (Roxb.) Brandis

Adina cordifolia, which has the synonym Haldina cordifolia, is a flowering plant that belongs to the family Rubiaceae. It is native to southern Asia, with a range extending from India eastward to China and Vietnam, and southward to Peninsular Malaysia. This species is a deciduous tree that can grow to be well over 20 metres tall. Individual flowers of Adina cordifolia are not prominent, but when they bloom clustered together in inflorescences that measure 20–30 mm in circumference, the display is considered attractive. The flowers are usually yellow, often with a pink tinge. A. cordifolia typically blooms during the winter dry season months. The bark of this tree has antiseptic properties.
