About Adiantum concinnum Humb. & Bonpl. ex Willd.
Adiantum concinnum Humb. & Bonpl. ex Willd. is a rhizomatous geophyte fern in the genus Adiantum. Its rhizome can be either erect or suberect. The fronds are pale green or dark green, fan-shaped, and bear pinnae that are ovate or oblong-deltoid, measuring 3–4 cm (1.2–1.6 in) long by 1.5–2 cm (0.6–0.8 in) wide. Each pinnule has up to 10 pairs of pinnae, and sori are distributed all along the pinnae. This species is native to a broad geographic range that extends from northern Mexico to eastern Brazil. It has since been introduced to parts of India, Sri Lanka, Hawaii, and Tanzania. It grows naturally in humid tropical biomes, and has been observed at altitudes below 1,500 m (4,900 ft). In cultivation, Adiantum concinnum can be grown in moist potting soil. It prefers low light levels and cannot tolerate cool temperatures. A cultivar named 'Edwinii' is easier to grow and less sensitive to cold; this cultivar may actually be a hybrid between Adiantum concinnum and Adiantum raddianum.
