Adhemarius ypsilon is a moth species belonging to the family Sphingidae. It was first described by Rothschild & Jordan in 1903. This species is found in Costa Rica, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Venezuela, French Guiana, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia. Adult males have a wingspan ranging from 89 to 117 millimeters, while adult females have a larger wingspan of 107 to 126 millimeters. In Costa Rica, adult individuals of this species are active in flight throughout the entire year. The larvae of Adhemarius ypsilon feed on multiple plant species from the genus Ocotea, specifically Ocotea veraguensis, Ocotea atirrensis, Ocotea sarah, and Ocotea dendrodaphne.
