About Actinotus minor (Sm.) DC.
Actinotus minor is a small, spreading perennial herb that grows 15โ50 cm (5.9โ19.7 in) tall, with long, thin stems. Its leaves are small and pointed, divided into 3-lobed segments, and measure 6โ8 mm (0.24โ0.31 in) long. The upper leaf surface is more or less smooth, while the underside is hairy and white. Leaf stalks are slender and can grow up to 12 mm (0.47 in) long. Its flowers form cream-white umbels that are 3.5โ8.5 mm (0.14โ0.33 in) in diameter. The bracts are lance-shaped, pointed, sometimes with dark tips, 5โ8.5 mm (0.20โ0.33 in) long and 0.7โ1 mm (0.028โ0.039 in) wide, with sparse hairs on their lower surface. Flowering can occur at any time of year. The fruit is oval-shaped, 1.9โ2.9 mm (0.075โ0.114 in) long and 0.8โ1.3 mm (0.031โ0.051 in) wide. This species, commonly known as lesser flannel flower, grows in heath and open dry sclerophyll forest on sandy soils. It is found in New South Wales, Australia, from Ourimbah south to Milton and Robertson.
